1. Go to Veridian City 2. Talk with the Old guy that teaches you (forcibly) how to catch 3. Fly to Cinnabar Island 4. Encounter Missing No. 5. Fifth item in your bag gets duplicated 6. ??? 7. PROFIT!!

Not just duplicated. It goes to some obscure number. Also, it's spelled "Viridian City".

Ahh Viridian, whatever. I played the Japanese version, so I wouldn't know. And the number becomes some weird garbled gibberish.
The Green Version was awesome, though, because of the Trap Pokemon Center.

I think you get like a thousand of it or something and it just goes down. I heard if you catch it it screws up the game xD

No, not 1000. You have to remember, 2^8 = 256, so values could range from 0-255. The most a variable could be was 255 or the system would lock up and crash.
As for catching it, I always find either M' or a level 132 Mewtwo when I do it, so I can't account for MissingNo. but whenever I catch M', it turns into a Rhydon and the battle is still going on, giving me a chance to catch it again, where it is M'. No crashing, but it'll screw up your Hall of Fame data and may cause some graphical errors. The graphics stuff can be fixed by putting it in the PC, but the HoF stuff is permanent. not that it really matters.

Pretty much. I already pointed that out in another topic, though.

I haven't played the Black Version, I've only played Yellow, Blue, and Red. Blue wins. I got a level 65 Squirtle C:<

That's the one. I played it for, like, a few days, then shat bricks.
